Yet again we have an instance of tragic whitey defending their “freedom” and “rights” to do what they want with their bodies and attacking poc who are trying to “control” their liberties. pssssh girl, bye!

As much as I detest Anglos with dreadlocks I am also bothered by Japanese Hip Hop Fans and Goons (of all genders and orientations) who get dreadlocks for equally arbitrary reasons. I’ll be honest, I am 100% in favor of a person’s right to autonomy in their physical being and choice to make informed decisions—-However! if you choose to make that decision with no regard for how it is harmful to myself and other POC it’s no longer informed. I don’t care if you listen to reggae, have a black friend who likes them, or are so ignorant you think you are beyond hairstyles being tied to culture; dreads are not for you. So, if you make that choice to have dreads please know that whatever choice I make be it telling you off/rolling my eyes/not wanting to hear your justification for getting dreads is going to be just as “Free” as your freedom to be an appropriative moron.
